Virginia Alspaugh is a California licensed attorney and a real estate broker. She has worked in various industry sectors representing clients on both sides of litigation matters, real estate transactions and acting as a consultant.  She has represented clients in all California courts, as well as before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

She started her career as a paralegal supporting some prominent San Diego attorneys where she fell in love with the practice of law.  She attended the University of San Diego School of Law where she wrote on current events and trends in estate planning, probate, and elder abuse law for the San Diego Law Review. 

After graduating she practiced for several national and internationally recognized firms.  She spent time at an in-house position with Marsh & McLennan supporting middle market industry sectors from technology to pharmaceutical.  She provided claim consulting for general liability, professional liability, product liability and special lines. 

Her industry experience focused on insurance coverage and risk management representing insurance professionals and organizations as coverage counsel, coverage litigation, subrogation, recovery, claim and litigation management, and insurance defense. 

Her insurance defense litigation practice included defense of professional medical malpractice claims, representing medical professionals in both litigation and Medical Board Actions.  She has represented clients in personal injury, premises liability, product liability, professional liability, contractual disputes, employment, and construction disputes and construction defect. 

At Alspaugh Law, she serves clients in all industry segments and sizes.  Virginia is also the managing broker at Alspaugh Properties, a boutique real estate firm focused on residential property sales and property management.  Her real estate practice focuses on helping individual and corporate clients find their perfect home or investment property, or market their property for sale or lease, while managing risks and maximizing the value of their investment.
